Friendly, helpful staff. Transportation always available when needed. Good low key family friendly but not so much so that adults can't have a peaceful fun time. Clean rooms, pool, faciilties. Food o.k.; would have liked more information about different places to eat. Would have liked to know that Friday night was the night to go to Oistins. Beach fabulous--sand was never hot because of the wonderful breeze; waves small to medium which was just right for water activities. Plenty of water toys available and umbrellas and lounge chairs. Good location: Easy to walk to St. Lawrence Gap and restaurants and can walk to Oistins but short cab trip to each and bus to everything. Would definitely book there again

We had the pleasure of staying at Bougainvillea for the first time this November. Everything exceeded our expectations, from the greeting we received upon arrival to the hugs, goodbyes and well-wishes on our day of departure. The grounds are meticulously maintained, as is the beach. Rooms are spacious and the bed the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Every member of the hotel staff that we encountered was friendly and went out of his or her way to be helpful. The reception/guest services staff was particularly helpful in making reservations and/or recommendattions. The food at both restaurants was very good, and reasonable by island standards, and the pool bar provided a central "meeting place" where we stopped daily to chat with new-found friends to catch up on the day's events. I think that the resort is perfect for couples, singles and families alike, as we saw all of the above completely enjoying themselves during our stay.

My wife and I stayed in a partial ocean view room in late October. The weather is nice during this time. Rain doesn't last, and it is warm all the time. The room itself was nothing special. The room was clean, but a bit dated and plain. It had a very private porch with plenty of privacy, if needed. I will say we were not impressed with the room upon our initial arrival. With that said, there was no reason to stay in the room for any amount of time with such a beautiful beach steps away. The beach was called Maxwell Beach... very nice. The grounds of the hotel are nice and well maintained. The decor and pool are, again, a little dated. Most will not be bothered by it. A pool is a pool, most people were at the beach. The water activities offered by the Hotel are free except for the motor sports. My kids were not on this vacation with us, but I can say that I have never seen a Water Activity Staff as dedicated to the complete entertainment of the childern that were present than the Staff at the Bougainvillea. They really seemed to have a good time while working. Now there were a moderate amount childern at the resort. I wasn't expecting that. All were well behaved and in no way a problem for other people at the resort. The two onsite restaurants are expensive. One, Lanterns Restaurant, have decent, if not run-of-the-mill, food. Breakfast fared about $9 US a person...lunch $13 US a person. The staff will give you as long as you want to eat, No rushing ever! It was a nice stay. We would recommend this Hotel.

Traveled with a girlfriend to celebrate our birthdays and we were both totally impressed with the Customer Service. Close ride from the Airport. We found the entire staff to be extremely friendly and helpful during our entire stay The grounds were landscaped lovely and beach area was very relaxing. The rooms were every spacious and clean. Very surprised to se that the balcony was very private with a partial ocean view which is what I expected. The Lantern Resturant's food was okay. To eat they once or twice iduring the stay was okay, I would not suggest more then that. The more expensivie Italian restuarant food was great. I actually found the Island itself to be a little pricey but I expected that also. Overall a really great experience and I would recommend Bougainvillea to my friends / family. Worth noting that the Facial and Full Stone Body massage in Waves Spa was pricey also but well worth the money spent!

We stayed here for 7 nights in September of 2008. Even though we arrived well into the night, our room was ready and waiting for us. The bellman took our luggage (up 4 flights, with no elevators, whew!) to our top-floor room. The room had it's own private patio area with a table and chairs with umbrella and lounge chairs -- all to ourselves! The room was well-apportioned, with a bamboo king bed with drapery, a flat-screen tv on the wall, a small kichenette, and a huge bathroom. The next morning when the sun came up, we also found out that we had a spectacular view of the ocean and the pool. We made a point to look, and we couldn't see any rooms or buildings that would have offered a crummy view. The service was on-point, the activities desk was very helpful, and everyone was ready to assist, with special requests, taxi needs, etc. The location is on the southern coast, and the tides aren't so bad. It's not as smooth as the Caribbean side, but you pay a heck of a lot more to stay in that location. The pools are nice, and there's one set apart from the others for more privacy. There are a few hammocks around for relaxation, and there are extras like shuffleboard, a game room, etc. The Lanterns restaurant is okay, but you're likely to tire of it after a long stay (as you would any restaurant). Didn't eat at the fancy restaurant, because the menu wasn't varied and was expensive - but they're changing it to an Italian restaurant in October 08, so it may be different then. Breakfast was sufficient, and our room included a standard meal. We could upgrade off the menu for $5 US.
